Acerca del evento

Join Us for the Celebratory Gathering of “What’s Your Thing?” This photo exhibit explores a powerful question we often ask our patients on the autism spectrum in clinic: “What’s your thing?” We’ve heard about sharks, igneous rocks, clocks, Def Leppard, Star Wars, SpongeBob — each one meaningful in its own way.

Sometimes the answers come from kids and young adults. Other times, from families whose eyes light up as they talk about their loved one’s special interest — something that brings focus, excitement, and connection.

Throughout our work, we honor each person’s uniqueness through their “things,” which have become the heart of our campaign: #whatsyourthing, and allow us to focus on stories and strengths beyond a diagnosis.

Whether your thing is comic books, clouds, Taylor Swift, hockey stats, the CTrain map, snowplow spotting, hiking up every trail near Calgary, or knowing way too much about dinosaurs — we all have something that lights us up. Come be part of this celebration of curiosity, connection, and what makes each of us wonderfully unique. We can’t wait to see you there — and hear about your thing.

Presented in partnership with Precision Medicine in Autism (PRISMA), the University of Alberta, CASA Mental Health, Positive Exposure, and the Sinneave Family Foundation

January 16 is the last day of the exhibit — updates will be available online soon.
